 Juju Home Essentials — Ancestral Wisdom, Modern Care is a product line being developed by Umoja Nation Development, LLC, our separate for-profit affiliate. Umoja Nation, Inc. (501(c)(3)) leads the education and community programs; the LLC builds mission-aligned businesses that can create jobs and generational wealth. Juju purchases are not tax-deductible; charitable donations to Umoja Nation, Inc. fund our educational and community work. 

How Juju Fits Our Ecosystem

 

  • Umoja Nation, Inc. (501(c)(3)) — Teach & Serve: education, cooperative economics, youth & adult training, community land and sustainability projects.
     
  • Umoja Nation Development, LLC — Build & Sell: develops ethical, mission-aligned enterprises like Juju Home Essentials to create jobs, vendor opportunities, and community wealth.
     
  • (Future) Umoja Nation Action (501(c)(4)) — Advocate: expands civic voice and policy education.
     

These are separate legal entities working toward shared community goals.

Transparency & Compliance

 

  • Donations go to Umoja Nation, Inc. (501(c)(3)) and support charitable and educational programs.
     
  • Product purchases (e.g., Juju Home Essentials) are not tax-deductible.
     
  • Any shared services between the nonprofit and LLC are handled under written, arm’s-length agreements at fair value.
     
  • No charitable funds are used to subsidize private enterprise development.
     
  • When appropriate, the LLC may make contributions to the nonprofit or reinvest in jobs and growth—always in line with law and our mission.

FAQ

Is Juju part of the nonprofit?
Juju is being developed by Umoja Nation Development, LLC, a separate for-profit affiliate of the nonprofit. We keep finances and operations distinct and compliant.


Can I claim my Juju purchase as a charitable donation?
No. Purchases are not tax-deductible. Only gifts to Umoja Nation, Inc. (501(c)(3)) are eligible for charitable receipts.


How does Juju help the mission?
By building ethical, community-centered enterprise—creating jobs, vendor slots for minority-owned brands, and potential contributions to the nonprofit’s work.


Will nonprofit resources fund Juju?
